Magic is in the Air

20 DAYS! TWENTY! Christmas is right around the corner and the older Mason gets the more excited I get for the holidays! While he doesn’t exactly understand Christmas, I know he *will* understand getting presents especially if some of his favorite characters are involved!

What’s so awesome about this time of the year is all the traditions that you get to start with your family! There are so many traditions I want to start with Mason, baking cookies, decorating the tree, getting presents from Santa, celebrating with family, Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas morning brunch and most recently Elf Magic!

I first heard about it last year thanks to the internet and now I see ideas for little Elves everywhere!

I started the tradition not only with Mason but also with my siblings! I read them the story

And later that night our Magic Elf arrived! The kids were SO excited! Before we went to bed we sprinkled him with some magic snow from the North Pole!

The next morning our little Elf already got into some trouble!

Can you believe that guy?! ;) He ate the head right off our our gingerbread man sugar cookie, and that’s AFTER I said NO COOKIES!

There are SO many ideas that you can find on the internet for creative things you can do with your elf! My favorite place to get ideas is PINTEREST of course! I found an ENTIRE board devoted to Elf  ideas! I have quite a few ideas of my own as well! Although I’m not sure how I’m going to top some of the ideas I’ve seen online!

Elf Magic also has a bunch of elf accessories like a  suitcase and clothes to change into! Just like when we travel for the holidays!

We only have one problem! We don’t have a name for our Elf, Mason is too young to pick and Luke and Ava had NO ideas! Soooo…

Disclosure: Some friends at the North Pole sent me our Magic Elf. All opinions are 100% my own!

  1. Love! How does Mason like it?! I CANNOT WAIT to start this tradition next year, I think Adam was “ready” this year but I know Lucas won’t get it! lol.

We have an elf named Tarzan! My kids are still a little young but my husband and I have fun with it :) I’d just ask Mason about name ideas. That’s how we came up with Tarzan!

  3. I’m so jealous!! My kids don’t get it yet. I pulled out our Elf on the Shelf and tried talking to Mason about it, but he doesn’t understand/care. Oh well… next year!

  4. Sooo cute! I feel like I missed out on this because I had never even heard of elf on the shelf until just the other day! Ryan might be too young anyway and next year will be a great time to start! When I was little, my grandparents had a wooden bunny that was in a new “hiding spot” every time we went to visit them… I always loved looking for it!

We dont have one because the racists at Barnes & Noble dont carry them and the racists on Amazon charge double – for the brown elves I mean.

But anyway yours is super cute. What about Cinnamon the elf? I stole that name from someone else’s elf but it is too cute to not use.
